Claude says:Junip's debut came together after years of the Swedish trio working around frontman José González's solo career — critics called it hushed and gorgeous, the kind of glowing folk-rock record that reveals new depth on headphones. You came to it five years late in 2015, and it's been a quiet fixture ever since, surfacing in long stretches (especially mid-2017 through spring 2018) when you need something earthy and unshowy. "In Every Direction" and "Always" stay in heaviest rotation, but the whole thing holds up as one unbroken mood.
