Claude says:Jimmy Eat World's tenth album landed in October 2019 through RCA, recorded at their own Arizona studio with Justin Meldal-Johnsen after wrapping the Integrity Blues cycle. The record leaned into their arena rock and emo pop roots — closer to Chase This Light and Damage than their more recent work — with Adkins running a Telecaster Thinline through a Marshall and keeping effects minimal. You grabbed it right at release and worked through the whole thing: "555" and "All the Way (Stay)" led the way, but you kept circling back to "Criminal Energy" and the title track, returning in waves every year or so since.
