Claude says:Jars of Clay self-produced this fourth album in their own studio after their intended producer dropped out, taking on everything from the artwork to the recording for the first time since their debut. The electric guitar presence is stronger here, and the album threads poetic ambiguity with more direct worship moments like "I Need You," whose music dates back to the If I Left the Zoo sessions. A handful of scattered plays from 2006 to 2008 went nowhere, but it finally clicked for you in early 2009, seven years after release — you leaned hard on "Scarlet" and "Fly" through that spring, then circled back in bursts every year or two until a final run in early 2024.
