Claude says:Incubus holed up in a Malibu house on Morning View Drive to write this — Brandon Boyd wanted easy beach access between sessions, and the whole band needed to escape the grind of a conventional studio. The pivot away from nu metal paid off: it went double-platinum and gave them their two biggest singles, though it also marked the end of Alex Katunich's run on bass. You had a few scattered plays in mid-2006 before it clicked that fall, five years after release, and you've kept coming back in waves ever since — "Wish You Were Here" and "Nice to Know You" still leading the charge, but deep cuts like "Echo" and "Blood On The Ground" clearly earning their place.
