Claude says:The Gin Blossoms' third album arrived in 1996 under the shadow of New Miserable Experience's success and Doug Hopkins's suicide — the title came from what people said when they met the band, congratulating them for the hits before apologizing about their lost friend. Critics dinged it for sounding too close to the previous album, and most editions didn't include their 1995 hit "Til I Hear It from You," but it still went platinum on the strength of bright, hook-filled power pop that People said could fix any dark mood. You grabbed it sixteen years later in summer 2012, played it heavily that month (especially "Follow You Down" and the deeper cuts like "Barking Dog"), then barely touched it again.
