Claude says:Frightened Rabbit's final album, produced by The National's Aaron Dessner after he met the band on tour in 2013, pulled them toward electronics and away from their old sound — a shift that split critics even as Scott Hutchison's lyrics earned unanimous praise. It hit number one in Scotland and came together in New York after months of emailed demos between Hutchison in Los Angeles and the rest of the band in Glasgow, all of them burnt out from two years on the road. You gave it a couple of stray spins back in 2016 and 2017 that went nowhere, but it finally took hold in fall 2025 — "Get Out" and "I Wish I Was Sober" did most of the heavy lifting, though you worked your way deep into "Death Dream" and "The Wreck" by December.
