Claude says:Foo Fighters' sixth album came out of Dave Grohl's conversation with Clive Davis about mixing acoustic and electric material in one show instead of splitting them — the demos ranged from "psycho fucking Nomeansno to sloppy Tom Petty country," and he brought back producer Gil Norton to push the band somewhere they hadn't been. You caught it a year and a half after release, played it a few times in 2009, then dropped it — one stray play in 2011 and that was it.
