Claude says:Flobots' 2007 debut landed in Colorado with live strings, muted trumpet, and two MCs threading political urgency through alternative rock grooves — the kind of crossover that sent "Handlebars" up Modern Rock charts and the album to #15 on Billboard by mid-2008. You found it right as it broke that April, ran it hard through summer (June was peak), and kept a strong hold into 2009 before cycling back in concentrated bursts across the 2010s. "Handlebars" still gets the most spins, but you clearly dig the whole front half — "Same Thing," "Stand Up," "Mayday!!!" — where the band's activist earnestness and head-bobbing crunch hit their stride.
