Claude says:The Austin post-rock quartet behind those sprawling instrumental narratives they call "cathartic mini-symphonies" scored David Gordon Green's 2015 film Manglehorn, starring Al Pacino as a small-town locksmith haunted by lost love. The music here is quieter and more lyrical than their usual crescendo-driven epics — gentle piano, fingerpicked guitar, a kind of dusty Texas melancholy. You grabbed it the month it came out and spent July 2015 working through every cue, from "Baseball Miracles" to "Kylie and the Lion," before letting it fade back into the shelf.
