Claude says:Peter Berg's score for his 2013 Afghanistan war drama was built around the same post-rock build-and-release architecture Explosions in the Sky had honed for a decade — all patient guitar swells and inevitable crescendos, now timed to combat sequences and Medal of Honor close-ups. You found it nine years after release, deep in a September 2022 run that burned through the whole thing in a week: "Never, Never, Never Give Up," "Murphy's Ridge," the slow dread of "The Decision." The film's focus on action over character matched the band's usual move, substituting emotional specificity for sheer sonic weight.
