Claude says:The band worked with Mark Batson to produce their sixth record at Haunted Hollow Studio in Charlottesville — their first time working with someone new, and the last album with full participation from LeRoi Moore before his death in 2008. It hit number one like their previous three albums, and critics praised their ability to update the sound with elements of soul and funk. You picked it up four years after release in 2009, playing "American Baby" and a few other tracks, leaning into the grooves even if you never came back to it much after that summer.
