Claude says:Dave Matthews Band formed in early-'90s Charlottesville when bartender-songwriter Dave Matthews pulled together a crew of serious jazz players — drummer Carter Beauford, saxophonist LeRoi Moore, bassist Stefan Lessard, violinist Boyd Tinsley — and built a catalog that would eventually land them in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This live disc from the Gorge captures their jam-band sprawl in full effect: extended grooves, instrumental detours, and the kind of setlist flexibility that made them amphitheater royalty. You gave it one spin in March 2009 and never circled back — "Everyday" apparently didn't hook you hard enough to keep digging.
