Claude says:Chris Carrabba wrote most of this in three weeks at producer James Paul Wisner's Florida apartment in early 2001, having just left Further Seems Forever and turned his acoustic side project into a proper band. The album came out on Vagrant Records that March and became the record that made Dashboard Confessional a name — raw, tuneful, and built around Carrabba's voice and a few chords. You had a handful of stray plays over the years, but it didn't click until December 2019, nearly two decades after release, and since then you've kept coming back to "The Brilliant Dance" and "Screaming Infidelities."
