Claude says:Charlie Hall spent years crisscrossing rock, folk, and electronic music while carrying a songwriter's instinct for dense images of life with God — a fixture of the Passion movement who refused easy truisms or lazy language. On The Road to Beautiful arrived in 2003, but you didn't pick it up until August 2006, letting its liturgy-meets-surprise sensibility settle in through that fall before a long quiet. Five years later, in the summer of 2011, you came back hard — especially to "Swimming From the Shipwreck," "All The Earth," and "Waking Up" — before letting it fade again by 2014.
