Claude says:Brittany Howard's Athens, Alabama outfit built their reputation barnstorming Southern clubs before Boys & Girls made them critics' darlings in 2012. This standalone cut from that debut era is loose, raw blues rock — all grit and groove, Howard's voice doing that thing where it sounds like it might crack the walls. A handful of stray plays over the years never quite stuck, but when you circled back in the summer of 2025, right as they were announcing their reunion, you played it through a few times like you were checking in on an old acquaintance.
